Britney, Britney, Britney – not a pretty thing you attempted with Matt Lauer on prime time television the other night. Should we allow the media to continue to vilify Ms. Spears (I’m sorry Mrs. Federline) or should we just feel sorry for her? Those clothes (nice display of cleavage), that hair (even my roots are better covered than that), the gum! If ever a young woman needed some media training and maybe some motherhood training — she would be on the list.

Rumors have it that she would not allow any of her publicity team or staff to participate in the arrangements for this interview. I can’t tell if that’s because she looked so awful they don’t want to own up to it or if its really true. The gum, oh the smacking of the gum!

So the question is – is the American Public responsible for the continued persecution of Ms. Spears? “We’re people just like y’all,” she drawled. Or do we owe it to ourselves to shut our eyes every time the blond bomb(shell) takes the screen?

I personally think she’ll manage to reinvent herself a la Madonna or the performer formerly known as Prince, then a symbol, then Prince!
